SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The notation [NP] in a rule of the Sailing Instructions means that a boat may not protest another boat for breaking that rule. This changes RRS 60.1.
1 RULES
See the Notice of Race.
2 CHANGES TO THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted on the notice board by the end
of the competitors meeting on the day it will take effect, except that any change to
the venue will be posted on the Fremont Sailing Club web site seven (7) days
before the scheduled racing day.
2.2 Changes to the Sailing Instructions may be made on the water orally by the Race
Committee prior to the warning signal of the race in which the change will take
effect.
3 COMMUNICATIONS WITH COMPETITORS
Notices to competitors will be posted on the notice board located at the registration
desk located near the head of the launch ramp.
4 SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
4.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed at the registration desk located near the
head of the launch ramp.
4.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 15
minutes’ in the Race Signals.
5 CLASS FLAGS
The identification of class flags will be announced at the competitor’s meeting.
6 COURSES
6.1 The diagram and table in SI Addendum A shows the courses and approximate
positions of the marks.
7 MARKS
7.1 The port end starting and finishing mark will be a float with an orange flag on a staff.
7.2 All rounding marks will be 24 inch yellow balls.
8 THE START
8.1 The starting line will between a staff displaying an red flag on the signal vessel at
the starboard end and the course side of the port end starting mark.
9 THE FINISH
9.1 The finishing line is between a staff displaying an red flag on the signal vessel
at the starboard end and the course side of the port end finishing mark.
10 HEARING REQUESTS
10.1 Hearing request forms are available at the registration desk.
The protest time limit is 30 minutes after the race committee boat docks or the last
boat finishes the last race of the day, whichever is later.
Parties will be notified by email no later than 2200 on the Tuesday following the
race of the time and place of any hearings in which that are parties or named as
witnesses.
